Viscri rural site
The most famous village of the destination, along with Biertan or Saschiz, Viscri annually attracts tens of thousands of tourists eager to see the "village of Prince Charles of Great Britain".
Hidden between the hills, but close to the European road that connects Brasov to Sighișoara, the village is home to one of the most spectacular Saxon fortified churches, registered since 1999 in the UNESCO World Heritage.
The village has great historical cultural value, given the fact that in Viscri a complete and very well preserved ensemble of typical rural architecture of the region is preserved, an authentic image of the beginning of the century. XIX.
You get to Viscri, via Buneşti from E60 Sighisoara - Brasov (7 km) or via Dacia from E60, near Rupea (9 km)

The architecture of Viscri is typical of Saxon villages, in which the cheerful colors and ornaments from which stories tell about their current or past owners are dominated. Viscri or Giscriu, as it was formerly known (Deutsch-Weißkirch or "White Saxon Church"), belongs today to the commune of Bunești in Brașov county. It is a settlement initially inhabited by the Szeklers (who guarded the border of the feudal Hungarian state at this point) and colonized by Saxons in the 13th century. Due to its withdrawn position, the records of the settlement appear rather late in documents of the area (15th century) in connection with the Rupea county.
