The Rhubarb Festival is back!

Rhubarb, regardless of how you call it—rubarbă, rabarbură—here in the Transylvanian Hills, we have it in abundance. For this reason, since 2011, the Women's Neighborhood of Saschiz has dedicated a festival to it. On the first weekend of May, when rhubarb is in season, we invite you to the courtyard of the Evangelical Church, where housewives, farmers, and small producers from Saschiz and the Târnava Mare area will gather.

Come and discover the community, taste and purchase rhubarb-based treats, enjoy together the sounds of brass bands and guitar or organ recitals in the fortified church at the center of the village, and participate in contests.

During the event, there will be a cooking workshop featuring rhubarb, and local producers/artisans from the Saschiz community will showcase and sell their products at stands.

The entry is free, but donations are welcome and help support the Women's Neighborhood's projects for the community. We look forward to welcoming you!
