Species characteristic to the banks of running or standing water, to the marshy areas, present in other wetlands in which plant species of the genus Rumex (mackerel) vegetate. 

It flies from May to September. 

The eggs are stacked on various species of mackerel. A female can lay up to 500 eggs. 

High density areas: along the streams and in most wet meadows near Valea Sapartocului, Angofa, Stejărenii, Mihai Viteazu, Roadeş, Criș, Apold, Viscri, Meșendorf, Saschiz, Cloașterf, Criț, Brădeni, Valea Dăii, Aurel Vlaicu.
